Bleed Electric is the brainchild of music producer Chris ‘MUG5’ Maguire and originally created as an outlet for Maguire’s eclectic musical tastes. Maguire was soon joined by rappers Dean ‘S-Tradamus’ Fortt aka Silk and Leon ‘Siege’ Hassan and the trio retreated into the studio to produce music that crossed and blended all musical genres.
Henry’s Funeral Shoe were inspired by blues and classic rock ‘n’ roll albums ‘borrowed’ from singer/guitarist Aled Clifford’s father’s vinyl collection.
Signed to Decca to relaunch the Verve label, 20-year-old Jodie Marie follows a strong lineage of artists – from Nina Simone and Billie Holliday to the Velvet Underground – and is set to transcend trends and convention with her debut album (produced by Bernard Butler and Ed Harcourt) that is due out in March 2012.
