Sumudu exclusive performance

She’s been compared to Karen Carpenter, Eva Cassidy, Joni Mitchell and Alison Krauss, and has been earning rave reviews from the likes of multi-award winning composer and BBC Radio 2 presenter Howard Goodall.

Sumudu’s initial burst into the spotlight came when she sang for Queen Elizabeth at the Millennium countdown as a teenager. She has also shared the bill with musical luminaries Dionne Warwick, Elvis Costello and Sir Bob Geldof at a tribute concert for Burt Bacharach and Hal David at the Royal Albert Hall, where she performed the classic song ‘Alfie’.

Sumudu has completed her first album Waiting For You (available at www.sumudu.com and on iTunes), and plays most of the instruments herself with production from Grammy award-winning Kipper (production credits include Sting and James Taylor)

She came in to perform a couple of tracks from the album exclusively for M.
