Who? 67 are Dimzy, LD, Monkey, ASAP, Liquez and SJ.
What? Raw rap and dirty trap.
From where? South London.
What’s the story? This Brixton Hill crew have been knocking about together for years, drawing on their love of Chicago drill, trap, grime and rap for their tireless flows.
They first started releasing music as 67 about 18 months ago, quickly racking up a MOBO Award nomination (Best Newcomers, 2016) and millions of hits on YouTube. But it was their mixtape Let’s Lurk last autumn which officially announced their arrival.
The seamless 18-track run overflowed with an unapologetically brutal agenda and visceral production, garnering the six-piece column inches in mainstream music press and blogs for the first time.
Featuring a collab with Giggs, and endorsement from Rinse FM and Clash, it put the Carns Hill-affiliated six-piece firmly on the rap map.
Now back with cracking new track Wat Up featuring fast-rising South Londoner Nadia Rose, and a longer form project, The Glorious Twelfth, in the pipeline for pre-order on 12 June, they’re lining up to make their mark this summer.
67 will be bringing their chart-ready, bass-bin busting sounds to The Great Escape later this week. Don’t miss them at Patterns (Brighton) on Friday at 10pm.
Sounds like? Unapologetic, meaty rap from an authentic new British force…
Predicted to? Make a load more ‘ones to watch’ tipster lists after their Great Escape premiere this week.
Must hear? Wat Up –
