Africa Express at The Great Escape

The Great Escape has announced that the Africa Express Soundsystem are to play a one-off gig at the Brighton Dome as part of the fesival.

The show on Saturday 12 May brings together some fantastic musicians from Africa and the West to collaborate in hugely-acclaimed one-off shows. Each one is different, with new artists coming together to develop new sounds.

Artists lined up for the gig so far include Diabel Cissoko (Senegal), Shingai Shoniwa (Noisettes), Spoek Mathambo (MOBO-nominated DJ and producer from South Africa), Terri Walker (UK soul star), John McClure (Reverend and the Makers), M3NSA (Rocketjuice and the Moon), Mim Suleiman (Miriam Makeba meets Aretha Franklin), Thristian ‘bpm’ (The Boiler Room), Jesse Hackett (Gorillaz).

Festival attendees can ensure guaranteed access to the Africa Express Soundsystem performance by topping-up their festival wristband for £7.  separate gig tickets are available at www.escapegreat.com.
