New Music 20×12 premieres

PRS for Music Foundation’s New Music 20×12 programme launched with much celebration on New Year’s Eve with Howard Skempton’s Five Rings Triples ringing out from the bells of All Saints Church, Kingston upon Thames. Anna Meredith’s HandsFree, commissioned and performed by the National Youth Orchestra, has already garnered tremendous reviews from The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Times.
Over the course of the year all 20 New Music 20×12 pieces will be performed across the length and breadth of the UK.
January and February’s performances are:

at Trafalgar Square, London
5 Feb Sally Beamish and Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment: Spinal Chords
at Turner Sims Concert Hall, Southampton
10 Feb Sally Beamish and Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment: Spinal Chords
at Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre, London
15 Feb Gavin Higgins and Rambert Dance Company: What Wild Ecstasy
at His Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen
21 Feb Jason Yarde and Wonderbrass: Skip, Dash, Flow
at The Globe, Cardiff
