Glastonbury Festival’s Emerging Talent Competition is one of the most hotly-contested prizes in the musical calendar.
Offering a slot on one of the festival’s legendary main stages, and with thousands of pounds of PRS Foundation talent development funding up for grabs, it attracts entries from hundreds of artists each year.
Previous winners have gone on to achieve national and international acclaim, with recent finalists and winners including Izzy Bizu, Declan McKenna and She Drew The Gun.
This year’s shortlist was revealed earlier this week, with eight hopefuls selected from a longlist of 120 by a cast of 40 of Britain’s most respected music writers and tastemakers.
Young Yizzy, Josh Barry, WOWH, Lilith Ai, Tyni, Flohio, Lucas & King and Silences are all in the running this year, and will battle it out at the finals on 22 April.
In the meantime, you can tune into all of them here, via the Emerging Talent Competition team’s top tracks…
This year’s competition is once again supported by PRS for Music and PRS Foundation.
