Songwriter, writer and acerbic wit, Luke Haines was the musical force behind The Auteurs, Black Box Recorder and is now a solo artist in his own right.
His latest LP Smash the System is billed as his first non-concept record in more than six years, following Nine and a half psychedelic meditations on British wrestling from the late 1970s and early ’80s (2010), New York In The ’70s (2014) and last year’s electronic British Nuclear Bunkers.
He’s also a great writer, as captured in Bad Vibes and Post Everything: Outsider Rock n Roll.
Earlier this week he was our special guest on the M magazine Soho Radio show chatting to us about the songs that have soundtracked his life.
