By day Floating Points (aka Sam Sheppard) busies himself with his PHD in neuroscience but when night falls, he’s a keen student of modern dancefloor beats. Productions on Eglo Records, the label he lords over alongside Rinse FM’s Alexander Nut, show off a classical training and love for warm electronica while his DJ sets span boogie, soul and jazz. He also leads the Floating Points Ensemble, a 16 piece group recently honoured by Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards.
