British Composer Awards

The winners of the 2010 British Composer Awards were unveiled at a ceremony hosted by the British Academy of Songwriters, Composer and Authors (BASCA) at Stationers’ Hall, London on Tuesday 30 November. Now in their eighth year, the awards are hosted by BASCA and sponsored by PRS for Music.

Peter Christopherson, a founding member of pioneering post-punk noise band Throbbing Gristle has died in his sleep aged 55 at his home in Bangkok.

Henryk Górecki

Polish classical composer Henryk Górecki has died aged 76. Famous for his Third Symphony - which shot to popularity in the early 1990s - Górecki passed away following a long illness.
