Loleatta Holloway 1946 – 2011

Soul singer Loleatta Holloway has died aged 64 from heart failure. Chicago-born Holloway began her career singing gospel music with her mother in the Holloway Community Singers. After a few minor single releases and appearances in stage shows, the singer signed with the Atlanta-based Aware record label where she released two albums: 1973's Loleatta and Cry to Me in 1975.

Jet Harris MBE 1939-2011

Jet Harris MBE 6 July 1939 – 18 March 2011 Jet Harris MBE, who helped pioneer British rock 'n' Roll as bassist with The Shadows has passed away aged 71 after battling throat cancer. Born Terence Harris, he received the nickname 'Jet' due to his prowess as a sprinter at school.
