Drake Music is looking for deaf and/or disabled musicians and artists to get involved in its three-year programme facilitating and teaching creative workshops across the UK.
The initiative allows musicians at or near the beginning of their careers to develop new skills in teaching and mentoring across a wide range of musical styles. It also opens them up to opportunities to expand their income, and acts as a valuable tool to develop their own artistic practice.
The scheme, which is now recruiting emerging musicians from the North West, South West and London/South East, provides paid on-the-job training opportunities including mentoring from established music leaders and training in the use of tech in music.
See Emergent: A Music Legacy for more information and application details. The deadline for submissions is 12pm on 14 June 2018.
The programme was established by Drake Music in 2017 and is now in its second year. It is funded by Help Musicians UK in response to the needs and requests of disabled musicians who would like to widen their portfolio of work opportunities within the music industry.
