The Ivors 2020 will see the introduction of the brand-new Apple Music Rising Star Award.
The award will be presented at The Ivors on 21 May 2020 and is designed to honour British or Irish songwriters and composers who exhibit exceptional talent and ambition.
Music creators aged between 18 and 24 from across all genres are invited to apply.
In addition to receiving the award at the ceremony in May, the winner will also benefit from ongoing support and mentorship from the Apple Music team.
Entrants must be under 25 and a member of The Ivors Academy to enter.
Entries are open now and will close on Monday 16 December. For more information and to apply for the Apple Rising Star Award, please visit ivorsacademy.com.
The introduction of the new award follows last months announcement of a three-year collaboration between The Ivors Academy and Apple Music.
The partnership aims to bring wider exposure and development opportunities for members of the academy and community of music creators.
PRS for Music has renewed its commitment to the Ivors and will retain their longstanding relationship as the sponsors of two awards: the Most Performed Work and Icon Awards, which was formally known as the Outstanding Contribution to British Music Award.
