Calling all composers and music organisations: do you have a new commission or existing written piece? Find out you can get funding plus two performances broadcast across BBC Radio 3…
Following last year’s successful New Music Biennial, PRS Foundation has announced that entries for New Music Biennial 2019 are now open.
The festival will showcase up to 20 pieces of new music over two weekends in 2019, broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Performances will take place at London’s Southbank Centre from 5 to 7 July and in Hull from 12 to 14 July.
Applicants may apply for up to £20,000 support for new commissions and up to £10,000 support for existing pieces written within the last 15 years.
Compositions of all genres are encouraged to apply: from classical and chamber opera, to jazz, folk and electronic.
The winning compositions will be selected by a panel of judges including Vanessa Reed (Chief Executive Officer, PRS Foundation), Elizabeth Alker (BBC Radio 6Music and BBC Radio 3) and chaired by BBC Radio 3 Controller, Alan Davey.
The deadline for applications is 5 April 2018.
