Wildcat’s Naomi Belshaw has partnered with the Scottish Music Centre to offer composers a free masterclass in career development.
The event takes place on 6 November at the Scottish Music Centre in Glasgow and is set to explore all of the areas that surround a composers identity.
Belshaw, a composer relations and PR executive, will lead the Promoting Yourself as a Composer masterclass, which will cover what kind of composer you want to be and how you can engage with artists, ensembles, festival and venues.
The session will also delve into how composers can build a profile on social media and create an impact, as well as how people can get access to your music, recordings and videos.
Belshaw has over 10 years’ experience in funding, publishing, licensing and royalties.
Having joined the Wildkat team in 2018 she is an expert in helping musicians and composers to understand the music industry better.
She has previously spoken at Trinity Laban The Royal Northern College of Music, The London Philharmonic Orchestra Young Composer Scheme, The University of Surrey and the London Symphony Orchestra Soundhub Scheme.
In addition, Belshaw has also taken part in one to one sessions with composers at Cheltenham Jazz Festival and DadaFest.
The masterclass is open to all and composers at any stage in their career.
