Mr Scruff is looking for six artists to take part in a three-day vinyl pressing course with Brighter Sound and Bird Hit Records.
Taking place at Band on the Wall in Manchester from 20- 22 April, the free course will act as an introduction to vinyl cutting and the creative opportunities that come from the format.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to learn about pressing, mastering and the cutting process as well as having a finished copy of their record to take home.
Mr Scruff will be on hand throughout with vinyl from the course ending up in his record box to be played at his Keep it Unreal club night on Band on the Wall in Manchester on 6 May.
Commenting, Mr Scruff said: ‘Seen by many as a ‘dark art’, this project is a great opportunity for artists to get a better understanding of the creation of a vinyl record. Calling all DIY vinyl lathe freaks, electronic tinkerers, musicians, studio engineers, producers, DJs, record label owners, sound system operators, turntablists, experimental sound artists & anyone else who feels a connection to the vinyl format!’
All applicants must be over 18, be based in the UK, available on the dates and have a studio recording of a music track they want pressed on vinyl.
Applicants must make their submissions by 19 March.
