Calling all songwriters and composers: submissions are now open for the Gibraltar International Song Festival 2019. Apply now for the chance to bag the trophy and £4,000 prize!

Songs entered for the festival must be unpublished and can be submitted in any language and originate from any country. Entrants can submit as many songs as they like, each with a maximum duration of 4 minutes and 30 seconds.

A panel of judges will select 12 finalists who will take part in the Finals Gala on 18 May 2019, held at the Tercentenary Sports Hall, Gibraltar. As well as the £4,000 first prize and trophy, the two runners-up will bag prizes of £2,000 and £1,000.

Now in its eighth year, the festival was first held in 2007 but its history goes back to 1965, when the late Bishop of Gibraltar came up with the idea for a song festival.

This year, the top prize went to Marco Canigiula and Marco di Martino for Ne ho abbastanza.

The closing date for entries is 31 January 2019. To apply, visit www.gibisf.com.
