Are you a songwriter or composer with an unpublished song? Fancy bagging a trophy plus £4,000? You’re in luck, as the Gibraltar International Song Festival 2018 has opened its annual call for entries!
Entrants can enter original songs in any language and from any country, with a maximum length of four minutes and 30 seconds.
The two runners-up will also win cash prizes of £2,000 and £1,000.
This year’s edition of the festival received hundreds of submissions from 22 countries, with the show streamed live to Europe, Latin America and via YouTube.
The top prize went to Jetstream with a song written by PRS for Music member, Stewart Whitwell.
Now in its eighth year, the festival was first held in 2007 but its history goes back to 1965, when the late Bishop of Gibraltar came up with the idea for a song festival.
The festival finale takes place in Gibraltar on 2 June 2018. The closing date for entries is 12 January 2018.
