As part of its ongoing Talent Development programme, music development organisation Urban Development has announced a talent search in association with BRIT Trust to find the very best undiscovered artists.

Partnering with the KA & GRM DAILY Rated Awards 2017, the talent search will see the winner and two runners up receive a prize package consisting of artist development support, recording, distribution, a video channel and a place on the Get Rated tour.

Undiscovered artists aged over 16 are invited to download the track KA Riddim and enter the competition by uploading a video of themselves performing their own verse to Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #KAGetRated.

The public will vote for their favourite submission and the winner will be recognised at the KA & GRM Daily Rated Awards in October at the Roundhouse, in front of the biggest names in grime.

The winner will receive:

– An Urban Development Artist Accelerator package worth £5,000
– A place on a five date UK tour in association with Live Nation
– Free studio time at Red Bull Studios
– Distribution, Marketing and publishing, in association with Believe and Bucks Music Group.
– Their very own artist channel set up and one-to-one advice sessions with VEVO

The talent incubator announced the talent search alongside other new events and partnerships, including a collaboration with BBC Music Introducing hosts Amplify, where it will curate a series of industry takeover panels at the three day event in October 6.

Confirmed panellists include John Woolf (A-List Management), Carla Marie Williams (Grammy award-winning songwriter and Girls I Rate founder), Alex Boateng (UD alumnus and head of urban at Island Records), Alec ‘Twin B’ Boateng (BBC Radio 1Xtra, Atlantic Records) and DJ Ace (BBC Radio 1Xtra).
