Interview: HABITATS

habitats band

With a love of David Attenborough and a weakness for slinky, psych-tinged grooves, Hampshire four-piece HABITATS are injecting a bit of animal attraction into the indie template.

Over tracks like Boogie WaltzerJungles and Float Together, the tropical rockers hit on their own humid blend of melodic bass and whacked-out guitars.

With just a few tracks currently roaming free in the world, they’re busy honing their recorded output. And, with sessions at Abbey Road Studios and a New York studio under their belts, it looks like the next chapter is taking shape nicely.

We caught up with the gang after their ace set on the PRS for Music-curated Lost in the Woods stage at Festival Number 6 to learn what they’ve been up to this summer and what we can expect from their upcoming UK tour (dates below)…

Tour dates:
22 Sept – Jumpin’ Jacks, Newcastle
23 Sept – Yellow Arch Studio, Sheffield
24 Sept – Soup Kitchen, Manchester
25 Sept – Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
27 Sept – Green Door Store, Brighton (Free Entry)
29 Sept – The Borderline, London
