Over the last couple of years London MC AJ Tracey has written his Westway home into grime history through a slew of memorable tracks and collabs.
As a fiercely independent artist, he’s developed his flow far away from the mainstream gaze now fixed on the genre, but still managed to find his way onto the BBC Sound of 2017 list.
Props have also come in from Drake, plus BBC Radio 1Xtra selector DJ Target, who handpicked him for the station’s SXSW showcase with PRS for Music and PPL last week.
