Music + Sound Awards opens for entries

Music and Sound Awards 2016 logoCalling all screen composers and sound designers: Music + Sound Awards – the annual ceremony that celebrates the role of music and sound design in the wider media – is now open for 2016 entries.

Anyone who has worked on a film, TV or advertising project, which they feel has been notably enhanced by the music or sound, is invited to submit their work.

There are 28 categories in five sections: Best Original Composition, Best Sound Design, Best Sync, Best Re-Records and Adaptations, and Best Use of Production Music.

With the support of the industry, the awards set out to give accolade and kudos to sound and music producers and underline how intrinsically vital they are to audiovisual media.

Work needs to have been broadcast, published or released between 6 December 2014 and 4 December 2015.

The deadline for entries is 4 December 2015. Finalists will be announced in February 2016, with the winners revealed at the awards ceremony in March 2016.

A 26-strong panel, including music supervisors Sarah Bridge (The Theory of Everything) and Ed Bailie of Leland Music (Last King of Scotland), film and TV composer, Harry Escott and Ogilvy & Mather’s Gerry Human, will vet each application.

PRS for Music members will receive a 15 percent discount on the entry free.
