Who? Rebecca Hill.

What? Bridge-building pop drawing on the UK’s bubbling underground sounds.

From where? Worcestershire originally, now residing in London.

What’s the story? Pop wiz Becky Hill cut her musical teeth performing with the band Shaking Trees back in 2012, going on to receive backing from new talent platform BBC Introducing.

Shortly after, she landed feet-first in the national spotlight as a semi-finalist in the first series of TV talent show The Voice.

Her talents not only wowed judge Jessie J; pop juggernauts Rudimental were also bowled over by her vocal prowess, and she was invited to feature on their Mercury and Brits-nominated number one album Home.

As co-writer and performer on their track Powerless, she went on to perform with the band during their 2013 festival appearances including Glastonbury and Bestival.

Since then, Becky has grown into one of the UK’s most hotly-tipped new acts, lauded for her ability to join the dots between pop, club and R&B sounds.

Testament to her versatility is the rollcall of talent she’s already collaborated with, including grime maverick Little Simz, MNEK, Wilkinson and Shift K3y.

Together with Simz, her April track Back To My Love riffed on cutting edge R&B melodics, superslick dial manipulation and killer verse from the rap queen, winning her love from tastemakers on both sides of the pond.

She’s since released a string tracks comprising the gospel-tinged Eko EP, a taster on her own Eko Music imprint.

On the business end, worldwide deals have flown in from publishing powerhouse Sony/ATV and major label Polydor. And, with a debut LP slated for 2018, the future is only getting brighter for the girl from Bewdley…

Sounds like? Perfect pop contortions fusing EDM, R&B and future tech.

Predicted to? Make the BBC’s Sound of 2018 poll, no doubt…
