tallsaint music

Who? Tallsaint is the brainchild of Louisa Osborn.

What? Future pop.

From where? Leeds.

What’s the story? While Tallsaint may be cut from the same cloth as Little Dragon and St Vincent, she brings a distinctly British take to her sound.

Emerging from Yorkshire sonic hotspot Leeds, she’s opted to keep it local for her first single, I’m A Woman (After All).

It was released via Leeds label Dance To The Radio at the tail end of last month and offers a lavish introduction to Louisa’s sound. Dubbed ‘warehouse pop’, its synthy soundscapes collide with minimal percussion and plenty of negative space.

Her vocals are smart, layered and self-conscious, a spiky missive on all the mansplainers out there, and it’s been on repeat here all week.

She made her Live At Leeds debut this weekend, and we’re chomping at the bit for some more outings further south, hopefully soon…

Sounds like? Classy electronics with a shiny pop veneer.

Predicted to? Win over fans of LCD Soundsystem, Pillow Person and Roisin Murphy.

Must hear? I’m A Woman (After All)
