Genre-blurring singer songwriter Dan Bettridge wields a palpable honesty and soulful vulnerability to stirring effect in his music.
Since his earliest releases, Dan has approached his audience with open arms, offering a gut-punchingly emotive listen with heartfelt lyricism and gorgeous melodic intent.
And his latest release, ‘Two Left Feet’, doesn’t deviate from the script at all. He brings the same integrity and compelling musicianship to the table with sultry vocals and calm and considered instrumentation.
This time however, there’s a note of Americana to his writing. A country twang mixed with contemporary folk styling that shows off Dan’s eclectic influences, something that he says was a huge part of his musical education, digging through his parent’s collection of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and James Taylor records.
July 6th will see the release of the fourth part of Dan’s debut LP ‘Asking for Trouble’ which Dan has decided to bring out in separate releases, opting for waves of smaller releases over a standard album release.
The technique seems to be working thus bar, bagging him a healthy following and taste maker support from Clash Magazine, BBC Radio One and The Line of Best Fit.
