AJ Tracey wins Track of the Year at Rated Awards

AJ Tracey, D Double E, Michael Dapaah, and Not3s are among the names who won big at the GRM Daily Rated Awards 2018 last night (September 4th).

Held at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London, the event saw some of the biggest names in UK music gather to celebrate an exceptional year for the urban music scene.

This is the fourth year the publication has hosted its annual award ceremony, which was presented by Julie Adenuga, Stormzy, Tim Westwood, Jessie Lingard and more.

24-year-old London rapper AJ Tracey enjoyed success at the event, taking home the Track of the Year Award, sponsored by PRS For Music, for his 2018 offering Butterflies, which features fellow Rated Award winner Not3s.

Michael Dapaah won Rated’s Personality of the Year Award for his work as fictional rapper Big Shaq, who garnered huge online success with viral sensation Mans Not Hot and most recent release, Man Don’t Dance.

Breakthrough Grime star Not3s took home Artist of the Year. 2018 saw his most successful year to date with the release of album Take Not3s II gaining widespread critical acclaim.

Iconic East London rapper D Double E took home the GRM Legacy Award for a career spanning 15 years. The rapper has inspired Grime heavyweights like Skepta and Dizzee Rascal as well as countless other MC’s who followed his career from his days with N.A.S.T.Y Crew.
