Apple Music, the global streaming service with around 20 million subscribers, has launched Up Next, a new programme to support emerging acts.
The initiative will select one rising artist each month, with the aim of increasing their ‘visibility’ and reach to new audiences.
Each act will be the subject of an introductory documentary and an EP from a live session on Beats 1, which includes an interview with broadcaster Zane Lowe.
They will also be given a slot on The Late Late Show with James Cordon in the US.
The first act is Atlanta-based rapper 6LACK.
