New and emerging bands can enter a competition to play at Sheffield’s Tramlines Festival as chosen by music fans and headline acts.
The organisers of the event, which runs 25-27 July in numerous venues across Sheffield, are calling for submissions from acts looking to perform.
Artists can apply via the band app at www.facebook.com/tramlines. It is free to enter and submissions will then be judged by the public with applications closing by the end of March. Those artist who submit applications could have their songs exposed to more than 30,000 fans via social media platforms, according to organisers.
A number of slots will be chosen by the festival board and partaking venues with headline artists also contributing to deciding who plays.
Many of the performers at this year’s Tramlines have been announced, with the likes of The Cribs, Annie Mac, Toddla T and Katy B all due to play.
