Fancy getting your hands on a pair of tickets to see Jordan Rakei, Kojey Radical and Tom Walker at the next PRS for Music Presents event? Course you do!
The trio descend on PRS for Music’s King’s Cross offices in November for a night of unique, intimate performances under the society’s PRS for Music Presents… banner.
Multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and producer Jordan Rakei has been honing his soulful, jazz and hip-hop induced sound since the release of his first EP in 2013. Now living in London, the New Zealand native is signed to Ninja Tune, and counts the likes of Bonobo, Mary Anne Hobbs, Gilles Peterson and Mixmag among his many supporters.
Potent spoken word artist Kojey Radical is a poet, musician and visual artist whose multi-disciplinary vision touches a clutch of envelope-pushing projects. Referencing fellow South Londoners Kate Tempest and Roots Manuva with his politicised rhymes, the storyteller graced BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Hot for 2016 list and has released a handful of EPs exploring issues of class, race and political unrest.
Last up, soulful powerhouse vocalist Tom Walker is a name to watch. Combining hip-hop beats with traditional songwriting, his soulful electronica has caught on fast on both sides of the pond. His track Just You and I went top 30 in Billboard’s AC chart and he made Artist of the Month on NBC’s Today Show back in March. Added to the BBC Radio 1 Brits List, his debut album is due for release early next year.
PRS for Music Presents… takes place on 9 November and marks the 2nd birthday of the series, which has previously hosted Rag n Bone Man, Ghostpoet, Dream Wife, Boxed In, Lady Leshurr and D Double E.
