Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) have been confirmed as the first act for the 2016 edition of the Glastonbury Festival.
The Birmingham group, known for hits such as Mr Blue Sky and Sweet Talkin’ Woman, will be taking the tea time slot on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage on Sunday 26 June.
The band will follow in the illustrious footsteps of Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers and Lionel Richie and their crowdpleasing, hit-laden sets.
ELO’s latest record, the platinum selling Alone In The Universe, was released in November last year.
Last year’s headliners included the likes of Kanye West, Florence + the Machine and The Who.
Glastonbury 2016 will take place at Worthy Farm 22-26 June 2016.
