ERC return with tribute to Delia Derbyshire

Eccentronic Research CouncilThe Eccentronic Research Council (ERC) are releasing limited single Maxine’s Dream in tribute to BBC Radiophonic Workshop’s leading lady Delia Derbyshire.

The group, which features actress Maxine Peake alongside vintage synth lovers Adrian Flanagan and Dean Honer, uses Delia’s 1964 collaborative piece with Barry Bermange titled The Dreams as inspiration.

According to the band, the limited edition vinyl single will see release on their own Desolate Spools imprint. Fans will also be able to pick up a bundle including a handmade, stamped and numbered Dreamcatcher Tapes cassette featuring 10 other dreamers soundtracked by the ERC.

Following the release, The ERC will be joined by Maxine Peake for a live show at Hebden Bridge’s Trades Club on 16 October.

They will also be performing 1612 Underture (2012’s 14-track collaboration with Peake inspired by the tale of the Pendle witch trials) at the National Gallery of Scotland in Edinburgh on 31 October.
