The Ivors 2015 nominations announced

FKATwigsforwebFKA Twigs, Royal Blood, James Napier, George Ezra and Hozier are among the nominees at this year’s Ivor Novello Awards.

Hozier, Ben Howard and Bear’s Den are all in the running for the prestigious Best Song Musically and Lyrically Award, while previous winners alt-J are up against Clean Bandit songwriter James Napier and FKA Twigs in the Best Contemporary Song category.

Napier is also nominated twice in the PRS for Music Most Performed Work category for Clean Bandit’s Rather Be and Sam Smith’s Stay With Me.

Royal Blood’s eponymous debut album is up against Wild BeastsPresent Tense and Bombay Bicycle Club’s So Long, See You Tomorrow in the Album Award shortlist.

Elsewhere, songwriter, producer and screen composer David Holmes has received a nod in the Best Original Film Score category for his soundtrack to the Northern Irish thriller ’71.

He will go head to head with Dario Marianelli and Gary Yershon for scores to The Boxtrolls and Mr Turner respectively.

BASCA, in association with PRS for Music, will present the 60th Ivor Novello Awards on 21 May at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.

The Ivors celebrate, honour and reward excellence in British and Irish songwriting and composing. They are presented by BASCA and are judged by the UK songwriting and composing community.

They have been sponsored by PRS for Music since 1974.
