Eight artists were chosen by a panel of judges from a longlist of 120 acts.
This year’s invite-only final will take place at Pilton Working Men’s Club on Saturday 11 April, 2015 with the eventual winner getting the chance to perform on the main stage of this year’s Glastonbury.
A £5,000 PRS for Music Foundation Talent Development prize will also be up for grabs with two runner up awards of £2,500 also on offer.
Glastonbury’s Emily Eavis said: ‘We’ve been blown away by the interest in the competition this year. To have more than 6,000 acts from the UK and Ireland enter is just incredible.
‘Our team of judges did a fantastic job of whittling all those entries down to 120 acts, and it certainly wasn’t easy for us to choose eight finalists from the longlist.’
The longlist was selected by the UK’s best online music writers from over thousands of entries.
