The Ivors Academy has launched a survey to explore the working conditions of screen composers and ensure fair commissioning practices.
Songwriter and composer members of the Academy’s Media Committee have raised concerns about music commissioning in the UK and Ireland.
This has prompted the organisation to compile the views and experiences of as many music creators as possible to campaign for good practice and support their rights throughout the industry.
The Academy is also considering the re-introduction of a Code of Music Commissioning Practice to give guidance to composers, their agents, music publishers, broadcasters and commissioners.
Taking part in the survey will assist in this work. Participants can share their views in the strictest confidence at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/M6Z8WCY.
The survey closes for submissions on Monday 14 October.
