Help Musicians UK unveils Emerging Excellence artists

HelpMusiciansUKforwebLittle Bear, singer songwriter Robin Adams and London collective DeLooze have been announced as Help Musicians UK’s latest Emerging Excellence artists.

The charity’s initiative aims to support new acts by offering them funding to record, promote and tour.

27 acts will be able to access grants of up to £3,500 each with the winners picked by a team of music industry experts.

Nordic Giants, The Artisans and Sykes were also among the winners of the funding.

David Sulkin OBE, executive director of Help Musicians UK, said: ‘Making it as a musician is a difficult thing if you don’t have the funding to get you off the ground.

‘Our Emerging Excellence Awards give a financial boost to young professionals with the best ideas. We are very excited to be supporting such vibrant and ambitious talent.’

Record producer Martin Sutton, artist manager and owner of RedGrape Records Kerry Harvey-Piper, director of film and TV UK/Europe at ASCAP Simon Greenaway, and Nick Keynes, partner at Tileyard Studios, were among the judging panel.

The next round of applications will open on 1 May 2014.
