Tim Ingham

Tim InghamMusic industry commentator Tim Ingham has become a non-executive director of Independent Music Publishers e-Licensing (IMPEL).

Ingham is the former editor of UK trade magazine Music Week and founder of Music Business Worldwide (MBW).

IMPEL was established in 2010, enabling independent publishers to collectively license their Anglo-American mechanical digital rights on a pan-European basis.

It now has more than 40 members, including Beggars Music, Bucks Music, Imagem, Mute Song, peermusic, Music Sales and Warp, and represents some of the world’s leading songwriters and composers.

Jane Dyball, chief executive of the MPA Group which controls IMPEL, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Tim onto the board of IMPEL. The success of MBW is testament to his understanding of the global music industry, particularly with regard to its relationship with the digital sphere.

‘This appointment represents the next step for IMPEL which is fast becoming the go-to home for independent publishers and shows how serious we are at staying best in class for the licensing of indie publishing repertoire into digital services.’
