Jim Moray to play Sweet England gig

Jim-Moray-for-webJim Moray, acclaimed folk musician, has announced a one-off live gig to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of his ‘cult classic’ Sweet England.

Taking place at the Union Chapel in London on 9 November, Jim will play his 2003 debut album in its entirety with the Doret Ensemble.

The folk musician and songwriter will follow this with a selection of popular hits from across his career to be announced via Facebook in the run up to the gig.

Sweet England was made by Jim in his bedroom as a student and released in 2003. The album dominated the following year’s BBC Folk Music Awards and received plays on BBC Radio 1 with many of the songs going on to soundtrack TV shows and adverts.

Jim Moray said: ‘When I first made Sweet England many people, including myself, thought it would be impossible to play live. I am extremely excited to be able to revisit it with the Doret Ensemble and finally perform it the way it should sound.’

A re-mastered anniversary edition of the record with additional remixes and live versions will be released to coincide with the gig.
