London’s Jazz Cafe to celebrate 25th anniversary

Jazz Cafe London 25 years oldLondon’s Jazz Cafe is to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2015 with Heaven 17 and Lee Scratch Perry among the acts performing live.

The Camden-based venue is one of the capital’s most loved venues, having played a key role in the careers of many artists on their way to the top.

Adele, Faithless, Bonobo and Amy Winehouse are among the list of acts to have passed through and played.

John Tunley, head of programming at the venue, said: ‘25 years of live music is definitely something to celebrate! We’re curating a year-long programme of performances ranging from heritage artists to ground breaking new bands and acts. We love putting on gigs for punters that like to see music in a live setting.

‘We’re one of the best small music venues in London and we’re very proud of that. With so many great acts coming through our doors, the Jazz Cafe for many people is the place where they first saw their favorite artist or band.’

PRS for Music presented Faithless with a heritage award at the venue back in 2012. The Jazz Cafe was the place of the dance music outfit’s first gig.
