MPA to run specialist digital seminar

The Music Publishers Association (MPA) have announced the Demystifying Digital Specialist Seminar, which will take place on the 11 and 12 November at The Gallery, Tileyard.

The seminar will explore the changing face of the digital market and uncover its history.

This in-depth look at digital from a music publishing perspective will look at the future of digital and emerging markets for song rights and will include insights from an expert panel.

The first wave of speakers that have been announced and include Johnny Phelan, director general of The International Confederation of Music Publishers (ICMP), Sarah Williams, chief executive of Independent Music Publishers’ E-Licensing (IMPEL) and Lucie Caswell, general manager and chief policy officer of the MPA.

Paul Clements, chief executive of the MPA, Nick Edwards, head of online for PRS for Music and Tom Fletcher, manager for the mechanical copyright protection society (MCPS) will also be on the panel.

Sessions will include ‘Digital Landscape – Global Performance; key territories and emerging markets around the globe,’ ‘Data Disruptors; where are we going in a world of Big Data, AI & Dashboards?’ and ‘  Future Technology and future audiences. The latest products in blockchain, crypto and AR/VR? How will we reach fans?’
