Music Cities Convention to launch in May

music cites convention Music Cities Convention is the world’s first event to explore the relationship between city planning, strategy, development and the music industry.

Taking place in Brighton’s Komedia Theatre on 13 May, the conference will see the likes of Mark Dafyd from the Music Venues Trust and Martin Elbourne from Glastonbury Festival and The Great Escape (TGE) festival, come together to discuss and debate issues intertwined in the relationship between music and the landscape around it.

Topics up for debate include issues concerning the future of live music and the city, the development and prosperity of the Music City, solutions to noise, regulation and licensing challenges, urban vibrancy and branding.

Held alongside the TGE – Europe’s leading festival for new music, Music Cities Convention has been initiated by TGE co-founder Martin Elbourne and global music market development agency, Sound Diplomacy.
