North East Live to offer work experience opportunities

North East LiveAspiring journalists, publicists and music fans across the North East are being given the chance to work behind the scenes at one of the region’s biggest pop concerts.

North East Live 2014, which takes place on 22 June, will be headlined by Jessie J, Rizzle Kicks, The Saturdays, Katy B and Jason Derulo.

Event organisers have teamed up with Capital FM to offer people interested in a media career the chance to join the team covering the event at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.

There are four roles up for grabs; three open to applicants from across the North East and one exclusively for students of Sunderland College.

Open positions include a press assistant, who will be working backstage to ensure on-air interviews with stars run to schedule, and an online/social media assistant, who will be writing and uploading content for a North East Live mini-site and social media channels.

Organisers are also looking for a research assistant to support Capital FM’s on-air and backstage teams.

The fourth role, open exclusively to Sunderland College students, is for a photography assistant to shadow the official stage photographer.

Applications must be submitted via by midnight on Sunday May 11 2014.

Training will be given so no prior experience is necessary.
