Paul Weller to play intimate gig

Paul Weller will play an intimate session and take part in a Q&A with the audience at  the famous Studio Three at Abbey Road Studios as The Abbey Road Acoustic Sessions with Absolute Radio.

The event is the second in the series of gigs hosted by a partnership between Absolute Radio and Abbey Road Studios, the most famous recording studios in the world.

Listeners will be given the chance to win tickets to the event through Absolute Radio. The session will played out on Absolute Radio as a Sunday Night Music Special and will include a Q&A with the audience.

Studio Three is perhaps best known as the location of many of Pink Floyd’s great recordings and more recently recordings from Florence and the Machine, Paul McCartney and the final recording by Amy Winehouse. Future sessions over the next twelve months will feature both signed and unsigned bands performing in front of a small audience in the studios and a specially refurbished space in the studios bar with a focus on the best of British artists and bands.

Absolute Radio Hometime Presenter Geoff Lloyd said ‘I can’t think of a more British event than Paul Weller at the Abbey Road Studios. Everyone knows this is where some of the greatest music has been made, and Weller is one of those greats.’

The Abbey Road Studios and Absolute Radio partnership will run from May 2012 to May 2013.
