PRS for Music Foundation has launched Flash Funding, a new initiative offering artists the opportunity to have their music pressed onto 500 x 12” vinyl worth over £1,500.

From today (Monday 7 December 2015) until Wednesday 9 December 2015, music creators can apply for the first edition the new fund.

This is in association with Modo and offers five emerging UK artists and bands the opportunity to have their music pressed on to the format.

As well as the vinyl, the successful artists will receive bespoke design support using Modo’s menu of options, consultation with their creative team, release strategy mentoring with expert advice on release planning, promotion and sales strategies as each release is staggered through 2016.

Vanessa Reed, PRS for Music Foundation’s executive director, said: Our Flash Funding initiative is an exciting new way for us to offer and deliver targeted support to music creators quickly and directly whilst maintaining our rigorous selection processes with expert advisors.

‘We’re delighted to be partnering with Modo on the first edition of the fund and I’m sure the package they’re enabling us to offer will be of interest to an exciting range of artists and bands.’

Artists wanting to apply should visit the PRS for Music Foundation website.

They need to submit two musical examples and a three minute video answering basic questions about the artist and release. Further details and information on eligibility are also available. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 9 December 2015 at 23:59.

An expert industry panel including, John Kennedy (Radio X), Julie Weir (Visible Noise), Nigel Adams (Full Time Hobby), Pip Newby (PIAS) and Sade Lawson (Relentless Records) will pick the five artists from a shortlist.
