The show will be broadcast from 12am until 6am, celebrating the anniversary of the infamous rave at Castlemorton near Malvern. It will be broadcast with no adverts, with participation available online where people can ‘make requests’ to the DJ superstars.
The Castlemorton rave of 1992 lasted nearly a week and proved very difficult for police to shut down as over 40,000 people were in attendance at the site. As a result, parliament drew up the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act of 1994, to curtail illegal festivals.
A documentary by Idris Elba, How Clubbing Changed The World, will be broadcast before hand, with appearances by Pete Tong and Paul Oakenfold.
Tabitha Jackson, Channel 4’s Arts Commissioner, said: ‘Like all the best club nights and parties if you want to be there you have to turn up’. So be sure to tune in for this once in a lifetime show.
