MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards 2011

PRS for Music is proud, once again, to sponsor the Songwriter/Composer of the Year Award at the 2011 Scots Trad Music Awards.

The Scots Trad Music Awards celebrate Scotland’s traditional music in all its forms and bring Scottish traditional music and music industry into the spotlight.

Anyone can nominate their favourite traditional Scottish act in the following categories:

  • Songwriter/Composer of the Year
  • Album of the Year
  • Club of the Year
  • Community Project of the Year
  • Event of the Year
  • Gaelic Singer of the Year
  • Trad Music in the Media
  • Instrumentalist of the Year
  • Live Act of the Year
  • Citty Finlayson Scots Singer of the Year
  • Scottish Dance Band of the Year
  • Scottish Folk Band of the Year
  • Scottish Pipe Band of the Year
  • Up and Coming Artist of the Year
  • Music Tutor of the Year
  • Venue of the Year Award

Once all the nominations have  been collated, four nominations in each category will go forward to the Stage 2 voting process. The public can now vote for this year’s winners across 16 categories including Album Of The Year, Composer Of The Year, Venue Of The Year and Gaelic Singer Of The Year.


Public voting will close on 18th November and all winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony hosted by Mary Ann Kennedy and Tony Kearney, with Julie Fowlis conducting backstage interviews, on Saturday 3rd December at Perth Concert Hall.
