Scottish Album of the Year nominees announced

scottish album of the year awardMogwai, the Phantom Band and Young Fathers are among the 20 longlisted artists for the 2015 Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) award.

The longlist is compiled by 100 impartial, invited nominators before a 72 hour public vote takes place 25-27 May.

An eventual winner will be unveiled at an award ceremony on Wednesday 17 June at the O2 ABC Glasgow.

A first prize of £20,000, nine runners-up prizes of £1,000 and a Graduate Design Commission valued at £2,500 are all up for grabs.

The 2014 SAY Award was won by Young Fathers for Tape Two. The hip hop trio went on to win the Mercury Prize with for their album DEAD.
