Sir Bob Geldof to be honoured by Gold Badge Awards

Gold-Badge-AwardsSir Bob Geldof, Alison Moyet and classical composer John McLeod are to be honoured at this year’s Gold Badge Awards.

Taking place at the Savoy Hotel, London, on 14 October, the event has been presented since 1974 to recognise exceptional people from across the music industry who have worked in support of British songwriters and composers.

Other winners at the 41st edition of the awards will include Kate Rusby and Jo Whiley.

Simon Darlow, chairman of BASCA said: ‘BASCA has presented the Gold Badge Awards for forty years to acknowledge the talent that helps make the British music industry thrive.

‘We take pride in celebrating these incredible Gold Badge Award-winning individuals. It is their inspiration, promotion, performance, commissioning and much, much more that makes the professional landscape for songwriters and composers a better place in which to work.’

PRS chairman Guy Fletcher will host the event.
