With a focus on celebrating and promoting emerging talent in London, Soundcloud aims to put a spotlight on artists who started their careers on the platform with a series of digital initiatives, including social media promotion, newsletters and blog posts.
Claptone, Jan Blomqvist, Jay Prince, Little Simz, Lotic and Peggy Gou will all be championed by the platform as part of the campaign and will be promoted across the Soundcloud app, playlists and official communications.
Alongside these selected artists, creators are being encouraged to use the hashtag #SCFIRST when uploading music to the site to be in with a chance of being promoted across Soundcloud in the Soundcloud First playlist themselves.
All artists uploading original music with the hashtag will be considered for promotion by the Soundcloud team.
Soundcloud hopes this campaign will leverage its’ position as the largest global open audio platform to support the best in up-and-coming artists through new music, video and photography, while inspiring new artists to use the platform to get heard by audiences.
Kerry Trainor, chief executive of Soundcloud said: ‘We are excited to extend our ‘First on Soundcloud’ campaign to celebrate emerging UK talent who began their careers on Soundcloud, including standouts Little Simz and Jay Prince.
‘Creators are the centre of our ecosystem and this campaign underscores our commitment to empowering them with the best tools, data and resources to start their careers on Soundcloud.’
