Yorkshire’s first all-female music festival, HERFEST, is set to launch this weekend in Leeds.

Stealing Sheep (pictured above) and The Tuts lead the lineup at the first leg of HERFEST, which takes place on October 20 at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds.

Come Play With Me, HER Music PR and Brighter Sound created the festival ‘to celebrate the amazing women making music today and to help redress the gender imbalance seen at mainstream music festivals all over the world.’

Citing 2017 statistics which showed that only 14 percent of acts performing at UK festivals were female, HERFEST aims to change that, by hosting an all-female line up boasting ‘some of the incredible female musicians coming out of the UK today’.

Following this weekend’s event, the festival continues its journey in Sheffield on 3 November at the Picture House Social with headliners She Drew The Gun.

HERFEST is funded by PRS Foundation and Brighter Sound.
