Broadcast Music Inc (BMI) executive Tina Hart is to join the Music Publishers Association (MPA) as its new membership and outreach manager.
Hart will assume direct responsibility for liaising with the MPA’s 270-strong membership – acting as a first point of contact with major and independent publishers and working on all areas of member relations, sponsorship, outreach and education.
She starts on 29 February and will report directly to MPA general manager Claire McAuley.
Hart joins from BMI, where she is executive, writer/publisher relations for Europe. Previously, she was deputy features editor at Music Week, as well as contributor to music media including SBTV and MSN UK Entertainment.
This latest MPA appointment follows a series of appointments earlier this year, including Issy Dacre as events manager, Nico Evans as team administrator and Tom Fletcher as project co-ordinator.
McAuley said: ‘Tina will be a great addition to the MPA in this lynchpin role – her uniquely blended skill-set will be an asset to both the team and membership.
‘Our members will benefit from her knowledge of and enthusiasm for the sector and alongside our other new appointments – in the form of Issy, Nico and Tom, all of whom have industry backgrounds – the MPA is looking in strong shape for the year ahead.’
