Northern Ireland Music Prize winner Joshua Burnside has signed a worldwide deal with independent publisher BDi Music.
The alt-folk singer-songwriter released his debut LP Ephrata in 2017, winning the Music Prize in the same year.
He has since performed at SXSW and earned more than 3.5m plays on Spotify, with live slots at The Great Escape the BBC’s Biggest Weekend on the cards for later this month.
Burnside’s new EP, All Around the Light Said, will be released on 29 June.
Sarah Liversedge, managing director of BDI Music, said: ‘My A&R coordinator Rhiannon Bramley raved about Joshua’s music to me about six months ago.
‘We went to Output in Belfast to see him perform and he was wonderful – an amazing musician and great performer. We are very excited to be working with him and Lyndon. This is Rhiannon’s first signing to BDi and I am very proud of her.’
Bramley added: ‘I am over the moon to have signed Joshua to BDi Music. He’s an incredible songwriter and musician with such a unique sound – his songwriting cuts straight to the heart.
‘I can’t thank Sarah enough for her support and belief in my passion. We can’t wait to start work with Josh and his manager to develop his career further.’
